About Sara

As said on the home page, Sara Palczewski is a sports broadcaster, digital content producer, social media manager and photographer working in Peoria, Illinois. She is also a May 2018 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Journalism. Sara has a passion for sports and telling the stories of the athletes she covers.

Sara is from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and comes from a sports-loving family. Her father played sports throughout high school and is now a sports photographer.

Growing up, Sara played almost every sport she could while growing up. However, she spent most of my time playing soccer and basketball before suffering a career-ending injury at the age of 16. With the physical action of sports out of her life, Sara has fully turned her attention to covering sports, which has filled her life in more ways than she can count.

Since the time of her injury, Sara was able to jump right into sports journalism. In high school she was on the sports staff of the yearbook, eventually becoming the sports yearbook editor. Sara was also fortunate to be selected to attend a sports media and journalism camp at the University of North Carolina where she was able to meet with other sports journalist professionals, peers, and conduct interviews with top athletes such as Marcus Paige of the UNC basketball team.

With her father in sports photography, Sara had the opportunity to learn how to use professional cameras, take impactful images, and edit photos in Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. While job shadowing her father, Sara worked in a professional videography environment while helping film a video for the USA Field Hockey Team prior to the Rio Olympics.

Thanks to her family, Sara has been fortunate enough to work at the Maxwell Football Club Awards for 2 years where she has been able to meet sports media personalities and top athletes and coaches at all levels in football, including Peyton Manning and AJ McCarron. She has also been able to work with the US Field Hockey Team during their Rio Send-Off Series where she was able to connect with Olympic athletes and top broadcast professionals.

Thanks to her parents and her own personal drive, Sara is always striving for excellence and she is constantly trying to improve her skills. She is constantly learning new things and she continues to push herself toward excellence in her chosen career field.
