"Our strength is always going to be our defense," said head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy (Coach Flo).
The Tigers have lost 5 players from last season, making them a younger team for the 2017-2018.
Coach Flo believes the new players give her an added challenge but won't affect their defensive playing style.

On Sept. 26 college basketball was rocked by the arrests of several college basketball assistant coaches involved in a bribery scheme, including Auburn's Chuck Person.

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Due to possible ineligibility issues, Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy will be held out of Auburn's game against Barry tonight.
Auburn Athletics released the following statement regarding Wiley and Purifoy:
“To avoid any potential eligibility issues, Auburn Athletics has decided to hold men’s basketball players Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy out indefinitely. Because this is related to an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment further at this time.”
Bruce Pearl still "no comment" on federal investigation.

"I would imagine as we continue over the next few weeks we're gonna get, we're gonna have more information," Pearl said regarding any timeline to the investigation.

"I stand by the university statement and the conduct that is alleged is not acceptable," said Pearl on the Person allegations.
The allegations of bribery against Person have drawn a lot of focus to the status of the Auburn basketball program. Pearl believes the absence of Person will not affect their players.
